LIVINGSTON ELECTRICAL WINS 2019 NECA PROJECT EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR DESIGN BUILD PROJECT FROM NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION

Honorees Were Recognized at the NECA Convention in Las Vegas in September 2019

NEW YORK, N.Y., Sept. 18, 2019 – Livingston Electrical, an electrical contractor based in New York City, was recently recognized by the National Electrical Contractors Association with a NECA Project Excellence Award in the category for Design Build Projects for their Electrical contribution to The Times Square Edition Hotel located in Times Square, New York. This is Livingston Electrical’s second award in two years. Last year they were awarded with the NECA Project Excellence Award in the Residential Category for 56 Leonard Street, the 820-foot-tall, 500,000 sq. Ft., super high luxury condo referred to as “The Jenga Building” located near the Freedom tower in the Tribeca area of New York City.

The prestigious NECA Project Excellence Award was established to showcase the exceptional work that NECA’s members perform throughout the United States. Livingston Electrical was recognized along with this year’s other winners on Monday, Sept. 16 at NECA’s annual convention in Las Vegas.

“The Times Square Edition Hotel was one of many Design Build projects we have done here at Livingston Electrical. Design Build is our core business. Livingston Electrical is a one-stop shop, we are like an Engineering/Architectural firm that happens to provide complete new electrical installations – this is what gives us the competitive edge,” says Daniel Livingston P.E., the founder and President of Livingston Electrical Associates.

The Time Square Edition Hotel is a unique building, that stands out in one of the busiest areas of the world. The 42-story tall scrapper with 378,000 square feet, features the Edition Hotel with 452 guestrooms, suites, and a penthouse. In addition to the Hotel aspect of this building, 76,000 square feet of 20 Times Square is allocated for retail space which includes Entertainment, restaurants, lounges, and bars with terraces and gardens in the middle of Times Square which inclusive of the Paradise Club. Lastly with an 18,000 square foot LED screen wrapping around its façade, 20 Times Square houses the largest single LED advertisement screen in New York.

The electrical scope for The Times Square Edition Hotel included Engineering and Installation of the entire electrical system. The Electrical distribution of (2) 480V/4,000A Services were value engineered from the incoming service to the last receptacle. The installation included the core and shell distribution of the 500ft tall mixed-use tower, the fit out of 452 boutique guestrooms, and the fit out of the Hotel Kitchens, Restaurants, Bars, and Club. In addition to the Light and Power, the electrical scope included the installation of a NYC approved Fire Alarm system.
